I tried this with my students this week and it was amazing! I loved hearing why they made the writing choices they did.

Can you tell me more about the 75% threshold? How does that work in your class?

Of course! This is a system I have with my AP courses—they can always revise up to a 75% on all assessments (and the way the math works out, this essentially guarantees them an A in the course if they complete all revisions and take care of all the formative/practice work throughout the course).

The reason I do this is to make sure there still is incentive to produce the best possible draft on first submission, though I recognize there are competing pedagogies around this and grading, which I'm constantly reflecting on! (I also have students give feedback second semester on our systems, including grading, and this was recommended by the previous year's students as the best version for them.)
